Projects for Daddy

I saw this post and knew it was the Father's Day project for me. Because I couldn't find any embroidery hoops in which to mount it, I made a wall hanging instead by attaching two loops of ribbon to the top. It will hang from two cup hooks. (I use cup hooks for everything--they're very handy!)Traditionally on various occasions (usually Mother's or Father's Day,) we do little interviews with the kids and write down their answers. Over the years, their answers have gotten more detailed, but they're still just as sweet. I did it for Sam this year and will file it away for us to look at later and get misty-eyed together.

My little girl stitched a pillow for her daddy and we made a "bossy ball" game for the kids to play with their dad. I saw this in Family Fun magazine. Using a rubber playground ball (in dad's favorite color, of course) you just make labels with all sorts of silly ways to play catch. Whatever you see on the ball when you catch it is then what you have to do when returning the toss. Some of ours said, "on one foot," "while telling a joke," "with eyes closed" and "while hopping."

All in all, it was a great weekend filled with relaxation and we just enjoyed our time together as a family. Hope you all enjoyed yours too.

Lovely gifts, Gina! And I see that Sam's favourite colour is his dad's favourite colour. :-)
